Typical Day of Eating
13 Thursday Oct 2011
I thought I would post what I eat in a typical day, I have found it useful to look at other blogs to compare am I eating enough? too much? or the wrong food? etc. Keep in mind it is an individual thing. I am fortunate to work from home so I can cook meals from scratch, but they also reheat well. This has been my wintery menu in summer I would probably switch to more salads, cold meats and cold drinks.
7am Kickstart, Home made Skim Flat White, mostly water about 1/4 cup frothy milk.
9.30am Breakfast, Pan Fried White Fish 70g, in 1/2 tsp coconut oil,
1/4 avocado, 1 small tomato, 1 clove garlic, sliced red onion,
chopped rocket leaves and a squeeze of lemon juice.
Home made Skim Flat White, mostly water about 1/4 cup frothy milk.
11.00am Midmorning, Cup of black tea with a dash of skim milk.
1pm Lunch, Mixed Vegetable, pumpkin, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, capsicum, kale, garlic, tomato (whatever you have in the fridge to fill a large pasta bowl) Microwave for 5 minutes. In a frying pan heat 1/2 tsp coconut oil, stir fry garlic, chopped tomato and cabbage. In a small bowl beat an egg with a tablespoon of water. Add cooked vegetables to pan and stir fry for a minute. Form a hole to the side add 1/2 tsp coconut oil pour in egg and cook until just set. Serve with a little salt and pepper.
Cup of black tea with a dash skim milk.
4pm Afternoon Snack, 2 tbs realgoodfood cereal topping, raw linseed, sesame seeds, buckwheat, sunflower kernels, almond & cinnamon, 10g 99% dark chocolate chopped. I eat this with a teaspoon and a cup of black tea with milk.
I roasted a Saskia Beer Chicken, yummy washed and dried, doused with salt inside and out and roasted for an hour and a half in a moderate oven, no extra oil or seasoning. Tender, juicy and crisp.
7pm Dinner, Roast Chicken and steamed Vegetables, fill a large pasta bowl with broccoli, kale, cauliflower, Asian vegetables, zucchini, cabbage, spinach, microwave for 6 minutes, top with sliced chicken and pepper.
8pm Bedtime Snack, Roast Sweet Potatoes, Hand’n'Hoe macadamia spread and a sprinkle of realgoodfood toasted cereal topping. A cup of T2 Liquorice Legs Tea.
I love this tea, I have a cup every night with my sweet potatoes, it helps with digestion and is also refreshing and sweet. I love coconut water and I usually drink a couple of these a week, usually after exercise.
45 minute walk.
